WELCOME TO THE INN AT ROSEWOOD LANDING
Rosewood Landing Small Wedding & Event Venue
The Victorian Style home was built in 1876 by David Knowles to accommodate summer visitors that would come up from NYC and CT on the Boston Maine Railroad. The Inn is situated up on a pine covered knoll across the street from the Madison train station, which has been restored and still stands today. A private company has purchased 6 miles of the old B&M tracks and runs sightseeing/ historical train ride throughout the non-snow seasons.
David Knowles owned large greenhouses in Madison, NH where he sold flowers, trees, shrubs and garden fruit and vegetable starter plants to the locals. David Knowles also built the Chocorua Peak House in 1893 to house hikers on the Liberty trail. The Knowles family ran the Lake View Cottages until 1955 when grandchildren Francis and Helen Knowles closed it to the public and used the property as a family vacation compound. In the 1990’s Rebecca Knowles, great granddaughter of David, and husband Jim Coogan renovated the house and began again to run it as a Bed and Breakfast.

“Hi Donna! Lisa and I just wanted to thank you, Chris and ole’ Jake for being such wonderful hosts. We returned from a long day of enjoying the foliage and hiking in the mountains along the Kancamagus and before we knew it, you had us sitting at your dining room table and enjoying a delicious lasagna and great conversation. Later, as we walked back to our room, Lisa and I looked at each other and agreed that “This is why we love staying at B&Bs!” You treated us like family, and we wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our stay with you!”
